Creating pieces to me, is, well..I guess I can't really explain it. I just kind of let myself go wild. I try different things, I use different materials to get paint across the page. I just let it go free. To top that off I like painting on things other then canvas. Usually my first choice is cardboard but since I have a shortage of it for the moment I tore apart a paper bag and am using that as my canvas. it's reacting very well to the paint and now I have an even larger surface to work on. Not to mention it was a lot cheaper then going out and buying a canvas. When mounted right it will look so cool. This piece isn't done yet, still a work in progress. But I'm truly enjoying how it's turning out and just the whole process of this particular piece.

Sometimes it's just enough to work in my art journal for a while. I wanted to test out a resist technique using rubber cement and paint, turned out really cool. I'll be posting a tutorial on how to do it soon. Super fun and super easy :)

While I love being on vacation, and actually got quite a bit of work done. It's wonderful to be back in my bedroom/studio again. Not even two hours after being home I was already elbow deep in paint. :)

A portrait I did for my little cousin Isabella. She wanted a fishy face and I wanted colors. I think we were both pretty happy with the finished product.

A while ago I said I would post photos from my recent trip to door county with my grandparents and my son. Well here are a few :). It took me way too long to finally upload these.

My absolute favorite part of being in door county was how close I felt to nature. It was always so bright and green and happy and I felt happier and closer to nature during it. It really got my creative juices flowing as well and I was able to churn out some great works during my time there.
