What Have I Been Up To....

So I've been super busy lately with all things school related. I thought I'd catch you guys up on what I've been up to creatively.
This is a watercolor painting I did for my drawing 2 class. We had to illustrate a piece of text. Some people went super abstract, some went incredibly literal. The pieces of text ranged from news articles to song lyrics. I chose a quote from Anne of Green Gables.
"If I really wanted to pray I'll tell you what I'd do. I'd go out into a great big field all alone or in the deep, deep woods and I'd look up into the sky - up - up - up- into that lovely blue sky that looks as if there was no end to it's blueness. And then I'd just feel a prayer"

For my son's birthday this year my grandmother bought him an unfinished high chair, knowing that I would want to paint it before I trusted any sort of company. I went for an octopus theme. My best friend came over the night before my son's birthday and helped me paint the lovely thing, took the better half of the night but totally worth it for how it turned out. :)
Just in case you can't tell, he loves it!
This is the latest project I'm woking on in my Drawing 2 class. We're taking a grayscale photo and transferring it onto a bigger sheet of paper with a grid. The big image is an original photo ripped up and replaced. Within this big image there will be a smaller grayscale drawing of our original image. We can't show any outlines, it all has to be smooth...this may not sound hard..but so far it's TERRIBLE.
